Well I heard that Obama would be in town tomorrow, so I figured I could drop off Liriel at school and head down town to hear what he had to say. Well, this morning the director of the preschool asked if I was planning on going with Liriel to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow (same time as rally) and I said "No, did you need more chaperons?" She said no, but she though Liriel might need extra help. Which doesn't surprise me that my little hellion would need extra supervision. But I think the fact that she pooped in her pants at school yesterday had a lot to do with it. Liriel still refuses to do that on the pot, but she holds it and blesses her DCP most of the time because I keep telling her she can't go to school if she keeps doing that.
But I did not sign up to go with my demon child because the permission slip specifically said their was limited space and "Parents with younger children will be given first preference for bus space. Other siblings and parents are welcome to come only as space permits." Oblivious me assumed they meant parents with younger children - as in not in school yet children (which I have none). Liriel probably is one of the youngest students there. Though they accept as young as 2.5 yo. I also figured their would be a lot of other parents wanting to go with their kids. Evidently this isn't so. There are still a bunch of parents who haven't even sent in the permission slip for their child to go.
I'm going to see if Grandpa can take his daughter, but he probably won't. So much for me going to listen to a presidential candidate. I'm mainly annoyed because I would of appreciated if they had asked me about going with her sooner, vs. the day before the trip.
Why cant daddy go? Isnt he just sitting on his at home anyway? Well since I know the answer probably is that he wont go, guess that means your going on a field trip. I lucked out with Kate and the pooping thing, that is the first thing she wanted to do on the potty....plus the dc pumpkin farm thing my mom volunteered for since Kate and my niece are both going....

Yep - looks like Mom is going on the Field Trip. I don't mind going on the Field Trip - I just wasn't planning on doing that tomorrow. And what if I had a job that didn't give me flexible scheduling - last minute time off could be a problem.
Daddy's reason is that he has a damaged leg and hobbling through a pumpkin patch with many small children running around would be potentially VERY bad for his leg. Operation #3 - I don't think so. He used the same excuse when I suggested he go to the rally - too many people, doesn't want to injure his leg. Of course if he wanted to go, he would NOT let this issue stop him.

Yep wouldnt stop him from taking some gaming trip im sure.....have fun at the pumpkin patch.
Well, I wasn't the only parent who had wanted to go to the Rally and ended up going to the Pumpkin Patch instead. It was a nice trip. The kids had fun. Liriel was really excited about riding on the school bus. She didn't want to get up this morning until I mentioned it was Pumpkin Patch day. Then she bounded out of bed and wanted to get going.
