How is DB?? Did he ever get checked out or is he going to the free clinic tonight??

Based on the symptoms we think he tore his calf muscle. Hopefully - because the alternative is much worse. The pain has gotten better, but it's still bad after working for 8+ hours. His foot is swelling up and bruised from what we assume is internal bleeding from tearing the muscle (that's what the website we looked at said). He says he is going to go in on Thursday. He's not scheduled to work, so he has no excuses not to. But I'm not going to hold my breath on that one. He did talk to the Nurse Advisor at the Hospital Sunday - I called about an injury to Liriels arm/hand and then he wanted to talk to her. She said that he could go to the charity clinic and if surgery was necessary, they might be able to give him a voucher to go some where to get it taken care of. So hopefully it's not that bad, but if it is, we hope he can get it fixed. And hopefully while he is there he can get his BP evaluated along with his hernia.

It makes me sick to hear of situations like this. This country values money more than the health and wellbeing of people. The fact that he couldn't go get medical attention when it happened because he can't afford health insurance is just deplorable. Having been raised in a country that has socialized medicine, it's just completely ridiculous to me. I hope he gets better soon and can get the help he needs!

But we have the best health care in the world! If you can afford it. Though actually I've been reading stuff that pretty much says most people in the US have inferior health care, even with insurance, compared to a lot of other 1st world nations.
