I took Liriel to DC today with some trepidation. Before unbundling her (it's about 0 F outside) I asked her DCP to look at her eye. Because it looked kind of pink and puffy to me. So we are both thinking she may have pink eye again (3 times now since late January) And she has a rotten cold. So I took her back home for DB to watch her, because he's not working today. And he starts asking if I'm going to come back. And I'm like, yes, tonight after work. And what does he say? "But I want to go play basketball at noon!". OMG Man! Your kid is sick and your not working and you want me to stop work so you can go play a game!!!!!!! I know this is a novel concept, but someone has to earn a living and pay the bills because you (DB) sure as don't pay a thing.
So now what is he going to do? He is going to pass her off as healthy and drop her off in the Y Watch at the YMCA while he plays basketball. So now he is going to help get a bunch of other kids sick.
OMG, I know you're fuming ~ and rightfully so!! Poor little Liriel isn't feeling good, would probably love nothing more then to spend her sick time IN HER WARM HOME, with her father none-the-less, instead of a cold, noisy Y Gym.

What the hell is wrong with him????
Well, thankfully the Y watch is actually a very nice place - was just remodeled in the last few months. (It's a free daycare while you are at the YMCA with a family membership - up to 2 hours - you have to be in the building.) And to be honest - she would LOVE to go play basketball. But Daddy won't want to be tied down to watching a toddler while he is playing BB with other adults. I was thinking more about how she will be spreading pink eye around along with her nasty cold.
And the Saga Continues...I just got a call from my DCP as evidently DB stopped by to see if she would take the child. They are thinking it's probably not pink eye (she did fall last night so she may have just banged her eye ). Supposedly DB hurt himself playing basketball. And he needs to pack for his trip that he plans to leave for tonight. Even though I highly recommended he pack YESTERDAY. He made some comment about leaving her at home "alone" ( I hopefully just misunderstood his ramblings in the background) or dropping her off at DC. What a moron. And I say to my DCP on the phone "This is pretty sad isn't it?" and she goes "Yes." What an A**.
Now that my boss is leaving I need to call home and yell at the idiot.
Oh my goodness... men... Argh, that must be SO frustrating.. They can be so selfish sometimes.. Why do they try to leave all the parenting to us sometimes?
