I am so fuming mad right now . . .

When I was growing up I was physically, emotionally, and verbally abused. I didn't think I was, I thought it was normal, until I entered the real world and learned about it it college.

My mom just called and said "I have a little bit of tid bit news that's kind of funny". She then proceeds to tell me how my dad had just beat the H*** out of my lil brother with the broom and he has bruises up and down his arms and he can't move his arms.

My mom thought this was funny. It pisses me off that no one will do anything about it either. Everyone thinks my bro deserved it but no child (even if he is 16, 6'3, 300 lbs) deserves that. It doesn't teach him anything. The reason he was beat was because he called my lil sis a b**** and he was hanging out with a drug user or something to that effect.

I don't know what to do. I have actually turned them in to child services before but nothing ever happens. I feel bad for him but I can't do anything from where I am at.

I am so sorry to hear this. It is not even remotely funny. That is the problem with CPS. They visit people they shouldn't be wasting their time on (Terri) but ignore the children that do need a visit.

It seems like CPS only cares if a child ends up in the hospital. I know the main problem is a lack of resources but I don't care.

I would call again. Maybe with him having bruises CPS will do something.

I know it is frustrating and brings up a ton of emotions. Hang in there. We are here for you

Sorry I agree about calling CPS again and calling the school. The fact your mother was laughing about it is just so sad. So what are your parents going to do when your brother realizes he is 6'3" and 300 lbs and can fight back? (Assuming he can) That's what DB had to do to get his Dad to stop beating him up.
