Dh told me last night that the breaks went out on his car...completely. Fortunately it was as he was driving out of the drive way. He can fix it himself, but the parts are $400.
As I went to book flight for our delayed trip. I find some decent priced tickets and I tell Dh to grab the credit card before the computer changed its mind After he gives me the card and tells me those look some like good tickets he says that he will have to take unpaid leave for the trip. WTF?!?!? Where was this information , oh I don't know, months ago?? I just couldn't believe it! He sat here for over an hour with me looking for tickets, discussing all the options, etc. So I told him I'm taking the kids and going without him. I really need to go. I guess we would save a lot if he stayed home, but I'm dreading the flight. WWYD?

It is hard to take unpaid leave, especially when you need the money... but I don't think I would want to go anywhere without DH... BUT I do know if it came to either leaving him at home or not going at all, I would leave his ass at home Sorry about the brakes in his car... when it rains, it pours, huh?

Sorry about the brakes. In the last month DB has spent almost $1,000 on repairing his car, and his car isn't even worth that much.

I would have to agree with Angela. How much is it going to hurt the household if he takes unpaid leave? Does he want to go?

Well my first question would have to be... do you want Robert to go with you? And does he actually WANT to go? If the answer to either or both of those is YES, then I'd say bite the bullet, take the loss and go on this trip together as a family. How long is the vacation for anyway? Personally, I don't think I'd want to go on any lengthy trip alone with the kids, KWIM?
