My uterus is screaming at me to MAKE MORE BABIES!!

I can't remember where to look for it; but a law passed back when Clinton was in office that says that pregnancy cannot be considered a pre-existing condition. So, medical insurance would HAVE to cover it legally. No worries on that front Jess. Sorry the hag showed up.

I was just going to post the same thing. Pregnancy is NOT considered pre-existing anymore. Insurance companies HAVE to cover you no matter when you join them. So sorry that the nasty hag showed up. IT will happen when it's meant to. I'm so sorry hon. ![]() |

Pregnancy may not be allowed as "pre-existing" but a lot of company's will refuse to even take you on if you are pregnant, unless you are part of a group policy and they have too. So it's better to switch companies BEFORE you get pregnant. In WI the insurance companies I looked at won't even cover pregnancy for 10 months from your start date. But different states have different laws on that. Another thing to make note of, is that if you have to pay for a maternity rider, it may not be worth it. Just make sure they have to cover medical complications of a pregnancy without the rider. In WI it's a complete waste of money to get the rider, you pay more in they you will ever get back unless you are constantly pregnant. You're better off sticking the extra $100 they charge for the maternity rider in the bank to pay off the medical bills. It just disgusts me to no end - what insurance companies can do in WI.
