That's a good point. I try not to pressure either child to eat if they're full as long as they have at least tried everything on their plate. She will eat breakfast just fine and then won't eat the rest of the day unless it's fruit gummies or ice cream or buttered bread Yep, she's my health nut...NOT!

LOL - They "say" that a child will eventually break down and eat healthy foods that their body needs. Though I'm not 100% sure of that one.
Buttered bread is an OK food for kids. Now if you could make that a whole wheat bread vs cheap nutritionally deficient white bread it would be even better. Maybe you will just have to purge your cupboards and only buy healthier food options. Which would then limit what she could eat? I know Liriel loves her fruit snacks and will demand those on the way home from DC before a more healthy cheese option is taken. But my child enjoys corn and peas and some times I can get carrots into her too.
Have you tried dips for foods? Liriel likes dipping her food in sauces. Peanut butter is a good one for many things and it's full of protein. Ranch dressing is a good over all dip as well.
On the subject of eating... Carson's an awful *carb* eater. He loves all fruits & veggies and will eat everything off his plate if it's a fruit or veggie ~ or a PB & J sandwich. That's what he likes & will finish and after a year of feeling frusterated with it because I hear a lot that he looks "skinny", I've finally come to terms with it. He's pretty much a vegiterian, though he will take a few bites of things like chicken nuggets, hamburger and salmon. I figure as long as he's eating something, I don't mind if he grazes throughout the day and I usually keep a snack out for him to eat when he wants.
In terms of behavior, I can't tell you how many times a day I tell him "Carson, STOP WITH THE WHINING!!". He isn't so much a bad or angry kid as he is a whiner. He really responds well with time outs and has never gotten up out of his time out chair. He's never bitten anyone and while he has hit me or Bill on occasion, it's just when he doesn't get his way and he's not hitting other kids or anything.
I'm sorry Lauryn is causing you more grey hairs!! Hopefully you're just knee deep in a crappy *phase* that she'll snap out of in a few days/weeks???

Welcome to the horrible 3's. GRRRRRR. First it's the terrible twos and then on to the horrible 3's. Things start to slowly get better and they become angels by 5/6.
I never had tooooo terrible of a time with Zachery in this regard. Timeouts and taking away play time worked wonders for him. But, then again, he's a people pleaser and will do anything to make you happy. He doesn't like to 'stir the pot'. Katelynn on the other hand, I could kill that girl! She would crawl on top of the refridgerator to get scissors to cut her hair. She was horrible! NOTHING worked for her either.
I totally feel your pain.
ETA: Maybe you can offer more positive rewards for her positive behavior? Maybe have something special set aside each day, and say if she's good, she gets to watch a show or read a special book to you ???????

Thanks ladies. I fear I have a "Katelynn" on my hands As far as food choices, we only buy whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, almond butter, macadamia nut butter, etc. We are what you might call food snobs I drown her veggies in ranch dressing and she sucks the dressing off and spits out the green. I guess she'll eat when she's hungry and I'll keep giving her vitamins
On a positive note, the bead jar worked for Dh last night and she earned 2 beads!!
I could write your post word for word, Kate is the exact same way. What a horrible brat most days. No amt of threatening works, no amt of time outs or swats on the butt work either. She is so naughty that she will go all day at DC with no accidents and walk in the house and pee her pants on purpose to tick me off.
: This is Bailey. Yesterday we were in the car. My first mistake was letting him have a bottle of lemonade. He poured half of it out the window (van back window) while we were driving down the interstate. Then took the other half and poured it on my back seat That is just the minor stuff. The hitting, pushing, antagonizing, fits, refusing to do ANYTHING I tell him is the rest.
I wish I had an answer, it must be these August babies.
