Last night Ethan sliced his forehead wide open. OMGosh it was the worst cut we have ever had with any of the kids. About 3 inches long and deep and wide. You could see little veins just pumping away. I was in my bathroom and Lex came running in screaming "Ethan needs stitches. He needs stitches NOW. Go take him and I will babysit." Poor girl was SO scared and crying. I grabbed a wet towel, icepack, a bra, flip flops, my water bottle, purse, and carried Ethan out to the van. I yelled back at Lex to call either grandma (to watch the girls) and Brett to meet me at the hospital.
The cut was nasty and yes it scared me but I didn't know for sure what happened and was scared he hit his head. He got really calm once in the van and that is NOT Ethan!

So of course I kept saying "BUDDY, you ok?" "ETHAN, talk to mommy." I am sure he was thinking I was fricken nuts!
The little guy did so great and ended up with 12 stitches. They had to wrap him up on a board just to be sure he would stay still. He cried and screamed at first due to not being able to move and the shots that numb to do the stitches burn. But then after that he calmed right down and talked away to the doctor doing his stitches. They did a scan and felt he didn't hit his head and just sliced it open - thank goodness.

He was playing with his big Tonka truck and said he fell on it. There seems to be a bit of a sharp piece on the back side / end of the dump truck part. There was blood on it after we looked when we got home. Blah....
I thought we would get social services called in on us. The kid looks like he has been beat. Cuts and bruises all down his legs and not to mention a black eye / cut on top of his right eye and nose. He walked in front of a friends little girl on a swing and got that just last Friday. The doctor we seen said he had 4 little boys - now all teen + yrs. - and said that what he sees on Ethan is what he seen on all 4 of his boys!

I will say it again - Boys are SO different then girls. I have never had to run across the house to catch a child mid air from jumping off the counter / table / or any other high object he manages to climb on until I had Mr. Man. God help me with two little boys!
I will take a picture of our wound later. Right now him and daddy are out on a 4-wheeler ride!
