We just talked to the preschool run by DH's college and they're sending us all the stuff we need to sign Cade up, we were thinking of starting him around March or April.
We're trying to decide if he should go 3 half-days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) or 2 half-days (Tue, Thur) - I'm kind of leaning toward 2 because I don't want him to be away too much, we just want him to get away from mom for a little while each week and get a chance to interact with other kids his age (we're new to the area and no kids in our neighborhood) so I thought 3 half-days might be a bit much. What do you think? |

Welcome home baby Lily!!!

I say if you do a trial run and he really enjoys it then let him go three times a week. I remember when Will went to preschool it seemed that on Friday they would always have the most fun activities then. He loved going and was upset when he couldn't go. He started when he was 3 years old and went Mon-Wed-Fri.

If Ty says it's big, then trust him - it's BIG!

When the girls were 3 we put them in for 2 half days, then the next year for 3 day and the next year for 4 days then they started Kindergarten. It worked out great for us because it was a slow adjustment. So I would go for the 2 days.

We also started Joshua with 2 days. He went on T & Th from noon till 2:45.
I really loved the preschool, but it was a coop, so parents were required to be in the classroom, ALOT. And, with Ian...it's impossible, so Brenna didn't get to go there. =( In any event, I think at age 3, 2 days is a good start - then gradually, up to 3. But, of course, it depends on Cade!! Good luck! |

Thanks girls. I think we'll start with 2 and see how he does. He'll only be 2 (it's a weird preschool, it's like a pseudo-daycare/preschool for kids age 18 months and up) so if some of you girls did 2 half days even at age 3 then 2 half days would probably be a good start for a 2 year old. Thanks again!!
