Based on what I've read about Autism - highly Probable. lol Never been tested that I know of. And being 34 isn't likely to be any time soon. I have a couple other brothers that could be on the spectrum as well. But this one in particular - I don't even think it's a question.

I dated someone who was supposedly Autistic, but sorry, I just didn't see that at all. IMO it was his mother looking for a problem that gave them SS benifits. Which she would use for herself vs letting her son use it for his needs. Not saying the guy didn't have problems - but I think they were all related to his mother.

We have a student at my school who was a Selective Mute. I say "was" because he no longer has the mute issue. It's only taken until this year - he's about 10 - but he will at least talk now. Not a lot, but he'll do it.

He would talk like crazy at home, but once he stepped foot on to campus his mouth closed and he wouldn't open it for anything.

Sweet boy though.

We don't get SS benefits for Joshua. Heck, for 3 years we had him in O/T and it wasn't even (at that time) covered by insurance.

But, truly... there are so many "spectrum" issues that no two people are alike. Though, if you could not tell "at all" by spending time with him, chances that he had "all out Autism" are slim to NONE!

If you were to meet Joshua tomorrow, and spend several hours with him.... you probably would not notice anything, unless you tried to have a conversation with him (about anything other than sharks, baseball, or football) or had a meal with him, where use of utensils is required. Then you'd sit back and wonder... "what's up with this kid??"
