Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??
Which booster?
What booster seats are ya'll using? What do you like or dislike about the one you've got? Any recommendations? I'm looking to put Thomas in one, but he's only 32 pounds so will still need a 5 point harness. TIA!
Josh and Brenna are both in Graco Highback Turboboosters. Brenna is also only 32 lbs, but she's almost 5 years old. The Turboboosters are for 30 lbs and up. She was in a 5 point harness until about 2 weeks ago. She's just too big for her carseat at this point.
We LOVE these boosters. We purchased Joshua's because it had really high ratings so we saw fit to purchase the same seat for Brenna, but hers is in a girly print.
I love the harness guides. The seatbelt NEVER gets twisted, and it will not get stuck as the guides are open, instead of closed.
But, I'm not sure what booster I'd go with if still needing a 5 point harness. Good luck!!

Re: Which booster?
Kris, I thought they had to be in a 5 point harness until 40 pounds. Is that not right? I only heard that through the mom grapevine at Little Gym, so I'm not sure of the accuracy of the info I just did a quick google search for the turbobooster and it does have a great rating and says for 30 pounds and up. Maybe that's the way to go.
I think it depends on what state you are in. KS doesn't even HAVE a restraint law for over 4 years of age. So, technically.... Brenna can ride WITHOUT a carseat or booster. However, I will not allow that.
ETA: Brenna has been about 30 lbs for almost 2 years now!
Joshua is closer to 60 and he's 4'2" and is totally content in a booster. Most of his friends, though, don't ride in one. So, he feels like the "odd man out" because his mommy still requires him to ride in one.

Re: Which booster?
I just looked on the state website and it only says they have to be in a child safety seat until 5 years old and >36 inches tall. There was no mention of the 5 point harness. I guess I'll do a little looking and let Thomas try a few out, but I think the turbo booster is high on the list so far.
We got Zachery the Eddie Bauer High Back booster when he outgrew his infant car seat at 22 pounds. This booster is great because it's convertable and we were able to use it at 22 pounds and up...he loves it and will be using it until he is about 8 years old. It has a cup holder (that is removable) a netting on the other side (for snacks or toys) and has a removable headrest and arm rests. I would say one without the arm rest would have been best. It gets difficult for Zachery trying to buckle his seatbelt now that he's 5 and riding without the 5 point harness.
But, overall...we love it! Good luck with your search!

Re: Which booster?
After going to many stores, we finally found a black and red turbo booster for Thomas I tried to get him interested in the grey one with the memory foam in the butt (felt much more comfy), but he would have nothing to do with it because it wasn't red I made the mistake of letting him look on-line and the one he saw was red and black, so nothing else would do. I can't wait til he's a teenager, NOT!!
