I heard somewhere that you can take pumpkin, mix with a few pumpkin pie spices, microwave for a minute and it tastes like pie. I tried it tonight, and i don't know if i put too much spice in it, or the wrong ones, but it was horrible. Anyone have this recipe?

Did you use pumpkin pie filling just cut up a pumpkin?

My mother was telling me the good jack-o-lantern pumpkins were usually not the good eating ones. But it's not something I've heard of before - the recipe you mentioned.

I can't imagine how it wouldn't taste like pumpkin pie if you put pumpkin pie spice in it! It surely won't have the same consistency, however... because the pie has a bunch o' eggs in it.

Did you use actual "Pumpkin Pie Spice?" Or did you try to "create" something? A little goes a long way with the spice mix.

I've never actually heard of doing it the way you suggest. However, I have heard of using canned pumpkin + water to mix a dry cake mix... and have it taste just like pumpkin pie. It doesn't, however! LOL!
