Some women bake buns......

Fifths disease was my first thought when going through all the rash pictures. I wasn't too sure because everything said low grade fever and at the time I was looking she didn't have the red cheeks. Last night when I took the picture her cheeks were red (whole face pretty much) but I figured it was the fever. Of course I freaked out when I read all the pregnancy warnings and warnings for people who are immunosurpressed (which is what she is)! She's still sleeping now and the pedi office just opened so I'll update soon

Because I said so, that's why!
|
I hope that what ever it is she gets over it quickly.
![]() The rash could just be a viral rash - showing her body is fighting some thing off. Liriel gets them, though no where near that bad, when she is fighting off viruses. |

Good news is the fever broke finally! We got in to the pedi this morning and basically they don't know what it is... his thoughts were strep which she tested negative for, scarlet fever but unlikely due to the characteristics of the rash, fifths disease which the rash looks like but he doubts because there is/has been no "slapped cheek" look plus it doesn't usually present in children her age and finally mono which is what he believes it is however the initial test he did was negative. He said that the test isn't very accurate so he drew some blood and will run a series of tests. Her tonsils were inflamed and had puss. Unfortunately we won't know anything for a few days so shes stuck home pending the diagnosis. She looks a lot better today (as in looks like shes feeling better) but no change in the rash. Oh and her hemoglobin was excellent (14.something) woohoo!! Thanks for all the support... I am so stressed out with all the sickness around here
