So the phone rings this morning, I answer it and it's Cody's Principal telling me that a kid in Cody's PE class (Cody's 1st period class) threw a berry at Cody, hitting him in the mouth and leaving a welt, and Cody ran after him and punched him in the stomach!

The Principal informed me this wasn't the first time he's had this other kid in his office for doing something either harmful or annoying to another student so he will received a 3-day suspension from school. Then he informed me that typically Cody would also receive a 3-day suspension for hitting another student, but because he knows Cody's a good kid and Cody swore to him that he'd never punch a kid or get in any fights for that matter ever again, he's letting him serve one day of suspension at home.

So I picked Cody up at school and he told me this boy has done this to him before and he even told Bill about him this weekend and I guess Bill told him if the kid does it again to go and punch him in the stomach and to tell the kid "you do it again, I'll punch you again". So my husband encouraged this!!

Anyway, so Cody's not in trouble for doing this but was told to spend the day in his room either reading or playing quietly by himself.
