I'm going to make this brief... Brenna went for her 6 year well-child checkup on Thursday. The overall checkup was great, she seems to be in perfect health. She had the shots that DH and I agree on, and her pediatrician signed off on the ones we don't - so she's covered in school, even though not fully immunized. (medical reasons)
My petite girly weighed in at 34 lbs and is 41" tall. Her weight is in the 3rd percentile (up from not even ON the charts...) and her height is now off the charts, under the 3rd percentile. Dr. S expressed concern - and I assured him that she is gaining weight - slowly, but steadily.
His concern was showing on his face, as he explained that her weight is no longer a concern, it's her height that's worrying him.
He is sending us for blood testing, thyroid and a whole host of other things, a bone aging Xray, and more GI work. He said that her gastro issues might be more serious than we'd thought, since she's continuing to have malabsorption issues. She's been gluten free for over a year now, but she's still having issues. (won't go further into it...pretty gross)
I'm really worried. He wants to have all sorts of hormone tests done, and he's setting us up with an endocrinologist.
Of course, I had to go running to the internet to look some of these things up and I really became quite afraid when I saw some of the returns, so I'm not going to look any further until after we'd have a chance to further investigate. I'm hoping and praying that they find there is nothing "wrong" and that's she's just going to be a petite kiddo.
If you could just keep her in your prayers, I would appreciate it. My heart is breaking, knowing that there might be something 'seriously' wrong with my little girl.

Oh no Kris! I am so sorry sweetie. I think it's a good idea to stop looking too much into it until you have some answers. You will just worry yourself sick and she will pick up on that. You guys are in my prayers
Kris! The Internet is evil when it comes to looking up symptoms and finding illnesses.. You and your precious Brenna will be in my thoughts and prayers. You and you family have been through so much bad health lately its just not fair.
Kris you and your family are in our prayers. And I agree, the internet has a host of evil things that come up for illnesses -- don't let that get to you. Wait to see how things progress. Stay strong!
