....tonight. I sent both Zachery and Katelynn upstairs to take baths/showers and to get ready for bed while I finished up a conversation with a friend on the phone. All of the sudden, I heard bloody murder screaming coming from upstairs. I have never ran up steps so fast in my life. I found Katelynn in Zachery's room holding the side of her face and screaming. Zachery was up in his bunk bed, saying over and over again, "Sissy...I'm so sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry....sorry, sorry, sorry!"

She was crying so hard that I couldn't understand anything that she was saying. She finally got out words that sounded like Zachery had thrown 'Elmo' at her. I found Zachery's stuffed 'talking' elmo laying on the bedroom floor with the 'heavy' speaker part laying out of the back of it. Apparently, they were playing rough, and Zachery had been throwing stuffed toys at her from the top of the bunk, and when he threw the Elmo, the speaker hit her on the cheek bone! By the time I pulled her hand away (only about 10 -15 seconds from the time I heard her screaming and ran upstairs), she had a huge welt and bruise on her face.

Yup...that Elmo IS viscious! And, of course I had to get pictures...have to have them to scrapbook! And, she will only be able to hold that against her brother FOR LIFE now that I have the pictures for her to remind him!

Edited to add: She had ice on it for an hour or so. By the time she took a shower, some of the color had dicipated, but, it was starting to swell. I guess we won't know the true effect until tomorrow morning. Ahhhhhh! Had to add a note to her homework journal about what happened so that her poor teacher won't think we're beating her. . Poor thing! Sad to say, but, it was actually nice to 'baby' her for a change. She's at that age that she doesn't allow me to do that anymore.

Well, we woke up this morning to a black swollen eye. (Large dark black mark under her eye) and really swollen. Most of the color from the booboo had dissipated, but, you could see she had been banged up.

Poor girl! Guess I will be making her feel better this weekend with a ton of icecream and treats as a constellation prize!
