My girls are crazy when they get out in public. does anyone know a good book on teaching young girls manners and how to teach girls how to be girls? I am thinking about sending them to finishing school.
seriously they just have seem to of forgotten how to behave.They never used to be like this. they are loud and fight when we are in a resturaunt and just dont seem to notice or care about people around them. please tell me I am not a horrible mom, that they are just kids.. I am going to go to the library and look for a book on teaching older kids manners.

You are NOT a horrible mom!!!!! Kids are just kids! I was going to post the same thread! This is too funny. Must be the ages...(now that mine are 9 and 5 - going on 10 and 6), but, they have the same problem. Let me know what you find. I need mine to learn that too, not just for girls, but boys too.

I once saw on Super Nanny that it's a good idea to bring projects for the kids to do when you go out like to a resturant or somewhere, like bring coloring books, something to keep them entertained, busy and quiet! Worked for this one family. Maybe it would help your girls?

Cant you just gag them and tie them up? Just kidding We usually do bring stuff for my niece to play with when we go out because she is the same way in public. It has helped and now that she has a younger sister and younger cousin, her job when we are out is to help with the babies, it usually keeps her too buys to be a brat. I usually have her carry something of Kaitlyn or her sisters and she has to talk to them when the adults are busy so that they dont get bored, I also give her treats to give the girls-fruit puffs or cherrios and she makes sure she gives them there treats when they need one.

Terri, I saw that same episode.

Not only did the kids bring something but it was something they picked out. Then you set expectations. (I expect you to use your inside voice.., I expect you to wait for your food patiently and play quietly) then tell them consequeses if they don't You will go to the car and wait (of course you have to be willing to go to the car also.

you are not a horrible mom, This is where parenting is so hard b/c they have to learn from us and in the mean time we feel like They are horrible kids but they aren't. They are just kids who need reminding of what is right and wrong.

I agree...when Zachmister was younger, we would bring crayons and coloring books and that always seemed to do. But, as he's gotten older, he's just now started to 'act up' again.

Ok I know it isn't easy. i have noticed myself, Especially this week that I will tell Gage to put something down, and I don't follow through, So he is getting into stuff more often and not listening. Then I realize he is acting up because "I AM ALLOWING HIM TO"

So this morning I said to myself this is it. I don't care what I am doing Once and that is your warning. And then we go to time out.!!! It is so working, He knows he gets one warning, And he will go to time out once before he realizes I am serious.

If I slack again, he starts acting up. It is up to us NOT TO ALLOW those behaviors.

I say that now but I am sure once my kids are older I will be on the phone w/ Belinda saying "WHAT have they turned itn. and what I have Done.!!"

Welcome to our world baby! I have to laugh because I feel like I will always be saying that to you....when you call and complain about something 'new' that Gage or Bailey is doing, and I will say, "Welcome to the 3's!" or "Welcome to the 4's!"

Each age carries on some new annoying thing! You can't help but love them. Zachery's newest thing is asking 'WHY' and 'What happens if'. I swear, if I hear that ONE MORE TIME! I feel like being that comedian that we saw in DC and say, 'because things just ARE...because if they weren't, then they wouldn't BE." LONG STORY...you had to be there.
