I don't think this effects us in the US YET, but now Cadbury, Kraft, Mars are recalling products made in China. The scary part is that it can be so difficult to find out where our food comes from/is made. Did you guys know that most of the apple juice on store shelves is made up of apples from CHINA. Yes, China! Tree Top, Motts, Juicy Juice, etc. from CHINA! It makes me sick to think about. Granted they don't use melamine as a filler in juice (that I know about anyway), but the melamine issue just proves how corrupt, greedy, and deceptive these manufacturers are. What are they putting on the apples or in the juice????
We buy the Juicy Juice (or other 100% juice single serve containers) for a quick beverage on the go - or when I don't feel like making up the frozen concentrate. Now I'll have to look when I get home to see what the packaging says for "Made in..." Along with my packages of candy.
On the positive side, maybe it will ship a lot more business back to the US. I've read that some companies are already doing that because the high fuel costs are actually making it cheaper to make their products in the US, vs. China and shipping them back to the US.

I bought them all too. Don't feel bad. You would think a company based in Washington would maybe use Washington apples. GRRRRR! I sure hope you're right Rebecca and these companies get a clue and move operations back to the US. I haven't heard a lot of talk about that helping solve some of our unemployment problems. It seems like a total no brainer to me. I'm not getting on that soapbox however, 'cuz then I'll be in a bad mood all day
BTW. I was unable to find "made in" or "apples from"... on the individual box drinks. I looked at the info on the big Juicy Juice, Motts, Apple Tree, Minute Maid bottles. What makes me really laugh is the "organic" products made in China. How in the hell can you be assured of the product being organic when you can't keep them from using Melamine and lead in their products. HELLO!

I would be a bit skeptical about anything "organic" from China.
