Phew.. I'm glad thats over! Tip - don't ever bring a 2.5 y/o, a 1.5 y/o and a 6 month old to an OB appt, especially right before dinner time

. Its guaranteed to be a DISASTER!
So everything went well. First the nurse (an old lady - not the usual) dipped the HPT and said "boy thats really faint, its there but really really light". I tried not to freak seeing as the screaming dark line I got this morning. Then she tried to tell me "well that could be why, your not even at 4 weeks yet". I said are you sure... I should be 4w3d today... oh no she says examining her little spinny wheel I'm sure...not even 4 weeks. Ok.... I just left it at that.
In comes my OB giving us a half ass grin and says guys... haven't you figured out what causes this yet?? Then spends the next 10 minutes or so playing with the kids blowing up rubber gloves, giving them all sorts of stuff to play with - including giving Peyton a Nuva Ring display

.
Anyways on to the good stuff..... he did an exam and everything looks great, nothing felt out of the ordinary. Cervix is closed tight and completely blood free. He wants me to get a beta done first thing in the morning and again as late as I can get in Friday as the lab is not open on Saturday to make sure the numbers are rising alright. He offered to do an u/s but thought it would be too early to get a peek at anything which I agree so I opted to come back for that in 2 weeks (hoping to catch a h/b too then). I figured as much as I knew we won't be able to see anything and how completely normal it would be I'd still get all freaked out by it. I should be able to call on Friday to get the first results and Monday for the second. Provided the beta is okay and no more spotting I'll see him on the 11th for the u/s......woohooo.... I'm so excited! Oh and when the nurse came in for the exam she said the test darked up quite a bit and looked good
