DH called me yesterday at lunch time with great news!! My DH is in I.T. and the company he works for has each year has been ranked in our city as a "family friendly" company. Over the past 8 years I've totally seen this to be true. He loves his job and they love him.

He was going to take 1 weeks vacation starting when she's born. His boss said no problem and if he needed to tack on a few more days it wouldn't be any concern. He has 4 weeks vacation.

Well, beginning 3/1 they've changed the policy on maternity leave for parents. Being the dad, he now will have two weeks off with 100% of his pay. He won't have to use any vacation time. It's now an employee perk. He just has to call and then fax to HR the birth papers.

We're both really excited about this.
