Welcome home baby Lily!!!
|
My ob wrote me off on maternity leave yesterday. I will not be going back until after I have the baby.
![]() We've got bad weather here and it's mainly ice. I went to work yesterday and made it on time and they hadn't scrapped the parking lot. When I got out of the van I fell. I didn't think much of it as once I got inside baby girl was moving around fine but I did have a huge goose egg knot on my leg. Since the weather was so bad only about 40% of the employees showed up for work so all of us in the office had to go out on the plant floor and work. I was pulling 4ft. GMC Yukon grilles off the line and packing them. It was hard as my belly was in the way and I'm not used to doing that. At lunch time I had a voice mail from my ob/gyn calling to reschedule my blood pressure check for today as the weather is supposed to be bad again. She said I sounded tired and I told her I fell and what I was doing. She had a fit!! She said anytime you fall especially this close to the end I needed to call immediately to be evaluated. They had me come in to the triage. I never heard the number but she said my blood pressure was off the charts, while there I started to vomit and I was having some small regular contractions. They were considering keeping me overnight but ended up sending me home. My ob said it's time to write me off as she feels me working is only making my blood pressure worse and I need to rest more. So beginning today I'm on leave. I called my supervisor "the hag" and told her and there was silence on the phone and she started yelling at me. She was furious!! She told me there was no way she was going to let me go out this early and I'd better show up for work today..etc. HR has just called this morning and just told me to get my FMLA papers submitted as soon as I can and to be sure and call and let them know when she's born so she can be added to insurance. They're not happy but there's nothing they can do about it since I've been wrote off on FMLA. Last edited by DKGirl; 02-13-2008 at 05:29 PM. |

Because I said so, that's why!

I suspect your blood pressure should start dropping now.
Though personally I wouldn't have been calling my care provider just because I fell if everything seemed OK - so don't feel bad about that. But you know - anything to get you out of that nasty work environment. ![]() Take care of yourself. Eat well. Rest. We don't want to hear about any new deliverys from you for at least 2 weeks, preferably 4. |
