hi girls!
just got back from the doctor this morning. nothing new and exciting. he was running so behind that i didn't get a cervix check at all, but that didn't really bother me at all. baby is good though, lined up right, bp is good, except i am + for group b strep. don't know much about that, but oh well. we finally moved into the new (aka. crap old - but new to us) house on friday. it is so upside down here! dh got 2 new toilets put in and the new tub, so that is progress anyways. the rest of the house will take ages, like the other one. crazy news about my old place though. on saturday i finally finished the slate work in my bedroom (will post pics of the bedroom updates later, have to still take the after photos) and cleaned the house from top to bottom. sunday, i decided to have an open house because a realtor was having an open house 10 doors down the street. (free advertising.... why not take advantage?) so, we have both open houses, goes well. lots of people come through. half hour after my open house is done, the realtor from 10 doors down shows up. (i thought, crap, she's gonna give me heck or something) she goes through our house and loved it. she left and 5 minutes later called to say she had a client who wanted to see it. he comes, loves the house. they leave. 5 minutes after that, she calls and says he wants to put in an offer. turns out, he is the guy who owns the house 10 doors over. he has to sell his place for some reason (i'm guessing divorce) and wants to stay in our town. he gave us a full asking price offer, no inspection, and wants it right away. he has to sell his place first, but he dropped his asking price $7000.00 that night so that it will sell quicker. so we'll see what happens, but it sounds good. (sold in 4 hours isn't all that bad if it works out) anyways, i should start cleaning and putting stuff away in this crappy place...... years more of renos, here we come. at least we're staying put this time. hope you're all doing great! sorry to be gone so much, but there is way too much to do with baby due in only 15 days...... |

Glad things are nice and boring with the pregnancy. Group B Strep means they will probably put you on antibiotics when you show up at the hospital to prevent possible contamination of the baby. Group B Strep in a newborn is a VERY bad thing. But most likely the only intervention - if you allow it - will be the antibiotics before giving birth. Weather you truly need that antibiotic is hotly debated in some circles, but most hospitals routinely do it. With the antibiotic, it's unlikely there will be any complications for the baby.
As for the 4 hour sale of your house - WOW! ![]() That's just amazing. Kind of nice not having to worry about that I would imagine though. |

Congrats on the house! As far as Beta Strep I had it with both of mine, as long as they get you in on time and get the med's in you all will be ok :) NOt sure about there but in FL if you have it...both you and baby are required to stay a minimum of 48 hours for observation.

Glad to hear the baby's doing OK in there. Do you guys have a name for your little guy yet?
That's awesome that you sold your house so quickly with the market and all. Congrats!! So you guys bought another fix-er-up-er in the meantime, huh? You are one brave woman to do it two time in a row after having a baby. |

Wow congrats on the offer, I hope it works out!
Glad everything is going so well... 15 days... !!! I was GBS+ with Rylie and JJ..... just meant antibiotics during labor and a 48 hours stay for baby for observation. It is a bacteria that normally resides in the vagina (intestines, rectum, etc.) in some women. If you test + it just means that its colonized at that time. It can be spread to the baby during delivery. They recommend IV antibiotics during labor which drops the chances to like 1 in 4000 vs. 1 in 200 with no antibiotics. |
