When I was about 3/4th of the way done with my pregnancy with Ella the other OB's office in town hired 2 midwives. I had searched for a midwife when I first found out I was pregnant with Ella but unless I wanted to travel 2 hours it wasn't going to happen. I LOVE my OB but HATE HATE HATE the office. Ok, so not the office but the ppl that work there. So I am going to give this a whirl. I called on Thursday and they have me set up for an appointment Monday morning!

They told me to expect it to be 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs. I guess the first visit she goes through EVERYTHING and I can ask all my questions. I am super excited about this! The office is right across the street from the hospital and in the same building as the kids peds are. So that is a nice + to it all!
The hospital that they deliver at has a level 3 NICU and after what we went through with Olivia that is a must for me. The birthing suites are AWESOME with huge tubs to use! I delivered Ethan and Ella there but with Ethan the new suites were under construction. The downside to my OB is that he didn't do more "natural" things like stripping membranes etc. and just did induction. I am pretty sure that if I had gotten my membranes stripped a time or two with Ethan and Ella I would have been able to avoid the pitocin. I guess I will find out more on Monday as to what will happen and they do but right now I am really excited!
