Brody has started eating a lot of solids... but if it is messy, he won't touch it.. he absolutely insists that it come off of a spoon directly into his mouth.. Things like cheerios he will shovel in by the bucket fulls but I am feeding him mac n cheese and peas right now and he won't touch either but to inspect it and decide he doesn't want to touch it anymore Anyone else have this problem? How should I go about fixing it? I tried just not feeding him and leaving it on his tray but he was so pissed
How about diced or shredded cheese, toast, waffles, chicken breast, peaches, pears, steamed veggies?
I think by 10 months I was doing a lot of safe table foods. Sarah had a texture issue but she didn't care if she got messy.

Good ideas. What about cereal bars and pasta cooked in chicken broth?

Mine didn't have issues with getting sticky/messy until recently. I would try teaching him how to use a spoon and a child's fork. That way he can fee himself with utensils. Liriel usually preferred to feed herself even at that age. But some times she still likes to be a baby and get cuddled and feed by Momma.

I'm so glad to read this! Sarah will ask me to feed her sometimes.
As long as it's only once in awhile, I don't find it to be a problem. Liriel seems to want to be a baby sometimes still. I suspect it's because the baby at Daycare gets more attention than her now. So when you are a baby you get more TLC. I kind of wonder if the pooping in the pants still is part of this? Then there are times I feed her to get food into her faster or she is eating off my plate. And times she gets P.O. if I try to feed her because she claims: "I can do it myself!"
