My uterus is screaming at me to MAKE MORE BABIES!!
I am using some of the tips in Good Night, Sleep Tight. Josi had been sleeping wonderfully using it until she got this cold and started working on her other eye teeth more, all at the same time. I got her to bed last night, in her own bed. She briefly cried around 11:30, I was able to shhh her back to sleep fast. Around 3 she woke up screaming. I picked her up to make sure she was fine and to wipe her nose. Then it took 20 minutes to get her back to sleep. But, when she wasn't sick, she was sleeping through. She went from getting up 3-5 times a night before I read the book and implemented it, to STTN.
As to the daytime stuff, he doesn't 'have you trained'. Comments like that really burn my buns! He just sees you as the one who can always comfort him. YOU are the center of his universe. He will get better about it with time. They go through stages where it gets worse. Children also get ritualized pretty easily, so you can work with him on it a little when he seems receptive. Have DH take him for a walk around the block, just the two of them. Have him carry him and point things out to him (look there's a red car, look at the stop sign, see the mailbox?). While he is gone, snuggle and cuddle Mike, or maybe have them go a few blocks one way and a few minutes later, you and Mike head off in the opposite direction. You all can meet and see if Dean wants to stay with daddy for more discovery.
Hang in there Jess, it will get better!
