It's official, I'm a post whore!!

I'm a horrible mother...
Brody fell out of the bed tonight...
He's okay... thank god. I can't sleep. I can't do anything but watch him. I feel so horrible. I am NEVER letting him sleep with us again... I made Mark promise not to tell anyone, because I already feel like a failure and just awful as it is... but I just had to get on here and get it off of my chest... My heart is in my stomach.... I'm taking him to the walk-in hours this morning just to make sure everything is okay... He has been sick lately which is the whole reason I had him in bed with me in the first place... so he is really cranky this moning and I can't figure out if it is b/c he's sick or from the fall... he has smiled a few times and played with a couple of toys... I'm scared... I hope he's okay... I hope they don't think I am a horrible person...
 please pray for us |

Just got back from the ped and he is sleeping now.. She thinks he is uncomfy because he is sick.. She looked him all over and said he looks to be fine but if if I notice him favoring anything or acting funny for the next couple of days to come back... She also gave me a hug and told me this isn't the first time something like this has happened.. that was nice of her... Well, I didn't sleep at all last night, so I am gonna try to go catch a nap...

I think we have all had a baby fall off the bed. When Sarah was around 14 months she was so sick that she slept on my chest and I had to sit upright for her to breath well. The next morning I had her asleep on my bed and I was trying to sneak off to the kitchen for something to eat. I didn't get far before I heard her crying. My bed is a pillow top so it's pretty tall. She not only fell out of the bed but hit her face on the bed frame and bruised her face. You are not a horrible mom.  |

Your NOT a horrible Mom.
I don't know that DD has fallen off my bed, but she has fallen off other stuff and lived to keep driving me batty.  If you have a high bed, just make sure the landing is soft if he falls off again. I know one mother on here put blankets on the floor beside her bed just incase this happened. Another option is to put up a bed rail - normally used on kids beds. This will help keep him from going over. I had a co-sleeper or a crib next to me for the longest time. Now her toddler bed - which she is actually sleeping in this very moment of all miracles - that helps keep her in. But the fall from my bed isn't far.It happens, don't punish yourself for it. |

Both my kids have fallen out of the bed (theirs and mine). I thought it was a right of passage  I'm glad he's alright, but I had no doubts. Don't beat yourself up over this sweetie. You're an awesome mom! |
