Dean woke up this morning, with his eye crusted shut. He sat up and threw up. I thaught he felt warm, but DH insisted that it was my imagination, and that his stuffy nose, and cough were just "allergies" since he felt the same way. When he left for work, I took his temp and he was 100.2. I called the Dr since his eye was red. I went to my LLL meeting(on the other end of town) only to have the ped call after I had been there a little while(i was keep Dean away from the other kids) to say they wanted to see him in 30 minutes. I raced back twards my hosue to the Dr. They think it's an URI, and viral pink eye. He's soo miserable. He's very lethargic. He has slept ALL DAY, and that's not like him. I gave him some tyleonl around 4 this afternoon, and he perked up a little, but not a whole lot. I have plans all weekend, and I don't know if they are going to happen now. The ped said his throat was all red and irritated, so he probably wouldn't be interested in food. I have been nurseing him as much as I can. I didn't fill the eye drops they gave me, i used a little EBM, and the redness went away almost instantly.
Sorry if i'm not responding to everyone's posts...life just seems so crazy over here.
I have to go clean out the humidifier to put on for Dean, just wanted to check in!
The eyes look a ltitle better redness wise, but they have discharge coming out of them that is green/white. It's both eyes now. He's got an awful chesty cough. We didn't sleep last night, cause he wanted his binkey, but he couldn't breathe through his nose with his binkey in his mouth...so we were up a lot last night. I have the humidifier going, i put saline in his nose, and tucked him in...hopefully he sleeps better.
Should i give him a dose of Xopenex tomorrow on the Neb to see if it breaks up the chest congstion?
It's starting to sound like croup. I'm going to give him 2 more neb treatments today to see if they help. I called my ped, and she thinks i should bring him in today(yes, they are open on Sundays) and let the Dr look at him and give him a shot of steriods. He seems ok during the day,so i feel stupid bringing him in. He's sleeping now. The ped is open until 6, so i might just play it by ear on him. Like I said, he seems ok until he coughs, and then he cries. It sounds like a bark when he coughs, but he's not coughing consistantly
