I really don't see why they are forcing him to go everyday. My kids still don't go every single day. If they go more than a couple of days with no poop then I worry about constipation. He really needs to take the miralax in liquid because he needs the extra liquid to get the most benefit from it. You could use BM, but I guess you need to figure out how to get him to drink it.
