When is it safe to let them start sleeping with a blanket? It's not a big one, it's probably about 10 inches with a little puppy attached to it... I would put Brody down in his crib and he would cry and cry everytime but as soon as I went in there to rub his belly, he wold try to grab my arm and spoon it
So one night, instead of giving him my arm, I gave him the little blankie and he went right to sleep! Now for the past three nights, he has gone to sleep all on his own, right away, with the blankie tucked under his arm.. I have been watching the video baby monitor to make sure it's not on his face and before DH and I go to bed, I go in there and try to take it away from him so I don't have to worry about it all night... what do you ladies think? |

Because I said so, that's why!

Put the blanket up against your face and see if you can breath through it. If that's not a problem, I wouldn't worry about it. Another option, if you are not already doing it, is a blanket sleeper. You can also get buntings that cover the chest and legs.

Josh has had one for months....a full size pillow too - I had to give him the pillow to wean him off the sleep positioner which he was getting comically too big for but he wouldn't sleep without it.

![]() Rylie was a blankie baby, just a little 12 inch or so Pooh Bear one. She started becoming very fond of it around 3 months and wouldn't sleep without it. I know she was able to roll and lift her head up so I wasn't too concerned. Peyton could of cared less, up until JJ was born. He confiscated one of JJ's fluffy ones and he won't part with it now. Jayden has been sleeping with a burp cloth since birth - actually there isn't much JJ doesn't do without a burp cloth strapped to his face ![]() |
