Another allergy!
I know it is one of the most allergic foods but I gave Ty a baby food mix with strawberries-this is the 2nd time and he woke up with hives everywhere-his eyes were covered and his whole body. Poor baby. he looked awful. i feel so bad for him. Now I know I guess.

Aww.. Poor baby.. So what do you do for babies that have allergic reactions? Is there a baby benadryl or something?

I think strawberries can be a pretty common allergen. My sister did the same thing as a child.

My oldest was 8 months old the first time he had Gerber Strawberry-Banana, and he went into anaphylactic shock. =( It was one of the scariest days of my life. I really don't understand, to this day, why Gerber puts such a HIGHLY allergenic berry in infant food.
To this day, Joshua has NEVER had strawberries, again!!
And yes, there is Children's Benadryl.... but proper dosing must be done by weight, not "general age."

Yuck! It's so scary having your kids react to foods like that.
Austin has been reacting to carrots all the sudden. The doc told us yesterday that it's the season (with the cold weather) and the fact that he has eczema only makes matters worse. He said that it's not that he's allergic, but that after he eats it, the saliva from his drool has the acid in it from the carrots, which is only breaking his chin and mouth out. So, we are going to hold the carrots for a few months. But, as all of you know, EVERYTHING has carrots in it!!! GRRRRR.
I feel your pain! It's really scary. I can't imagine having a full body reaction though. I hope he feels better!
