What causes it . . . Clarysa hasn't spit up at all until after this last feeding and now she has spit up 3 times. It really isn't anything major AT ALL but I was just wondering what actually causes it.

Maybe she still had air trapped? Who knows.
If it wasn't much I wouldn't worry. It's pretty normal for babies to spit up some. Sarah use to soak my clothes.

Liriel didn't spit up that much. But she had her days. Maybe it was some thing you ate? Or just got more air in her tummy when nursing? Or when crying?

Brody doesn't spit up much either.. But if he does, it's usually because he has had a bottle and ends up eating too much.. or there was a bubble that needed to get out..

My girls spit up depending on position, if they were not a little elevated when I nursed them, it was guaranteed. I have a fast let down that really would give them too much right away. I avoided it by having them a little hgher or level with the boob. But that was just me/ my kids.
Spit up is really normal. My doc said part of it is from their immature esophagus and the sphincter that is not matured enough to stay closed. Until that matures, there can be spitting up.
