Jersey is here and doin' well...

Okay, we didn't get three things that we would have liked to have got at the showers. A crib, a humidifier thing, and a swing. The great-granparents are doing the swing and the grandparents are doing a crib down the road (we have a bassinet)... Now, our bedroom (and for that fact, our house) is stuffy. We don't have a lot of humidity or air flow since we winterized our home. It's not sealed as tight as a drum (like I wanted it) since DH is a firefighter and he says what a danger that is...blah, blah, blah.....
ANYWAY, I've been told by a nurse auntie that we should get a cool mist vaporizer/humidifier. Anyone know what she's talking about? The only thing I remembered like that growing up was a Vicks vaporizer and it made it ssteamy jungle hot in my room. No thanks!!! Any ideas from you experienced mommies? |

A cool mist vaporizer is just that.... it produces a fine, cool mist that puts humidity into the air.
Like the vaporizers that make the room really hot.... these things can cause a chill in a small room. We use one in our boys room, on ocassion, but not most of the time since they both have asthma. |

Because I said so, that's why!

I have a steam on, but probably need to get a cool mist one now that Liriel can get to it when I'm not looking. It is a must have when the kids get all congested. But you don't need it if they are healthy. But you can wait to pick one up when the child is sick if you want, or wait and see if you can find a good deal on one.
