Still the best Christmas present EVER!

I think they CAN breathe through their mouth if it became a life and death situation. BUT if you cover their nose they won't breath out of their mouth, UNTIL that life or death situation. SO I would say they can't, knowingly, breath through their mouth. BUT THEY CAN, if that makes any sense what so ever.
But like donna said try the saline. DS has the congestion also, but I can't see any buggers, so I am not sure I want to try the saline thing. I probably should it might help. Donna could you see stuff up there when Rylie had the cold, or just hear it??? Tricia |

My Dr told me they CANT breathe threw there mouths untill they are older. That is why when there nose is stuffed when nursing they pull of and gasp. My DS the other night started choking on milk and mucous that was in his nose when I lied him down. He couldn't breath and it took me a few seconds to figure out why he was sqirming in a weird way. When I picked him up he blew it out of his nose and then started screaming. Scared us both! He couldn't breathe out of his mouth.
