Default is it possible

to ever get off an antidepressant post ppd? For those of you that have BTDT, how long where you on, how long have you been off? I started Zoloft when Ty was 3 months and just decided to wean off about 3 weeks ago but I feel like the last feww days I could just hurt someone. I think it maybe just the weaning process, general lack of sleep for the last week, sick kids, etc but I fear it means back to the meds for me. I really hate taking meds at all and going off has been tough-not mood wise but I have had headaches, dizziness, and weird tinglies on my face which my doc assures me is one of the side effects of going off a SSRI. Any stories would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry your are feeling so crappy. I've not been on them so can't offer any advice on that. But I hope it passes quickly. I have heard getting on such drugs is not fun though.

I was on zoloft for 7 years (but not for PPD obviously)... I was in a point in my life where I was happy and the only reason I was taking zoloft was because I had been on it for so long.. When we decided to start trying for Brody, I decided to try to start weaning myself off of it.. it was SO hard.. I didn't feel depressed but just fuzzy and sluggish and tired... It took about 2 months to start feeling normal again.. I will never go back on zoloft because I don't ever want to have to go through that tired/fuzzy feeling again... But it does work for those who need it, so I am not dissing it... I just personally will try to avoid having to take it again at all costs... I hope you start to feel better soon... I know it's tough...

weaning off is tough and the symptoms you described sound like it's from weaning off. You could try going a little slower with it and see if that helps. I was on Wellbutrin for a year or so after Thomas and weaned while TTC Lauryn. I didn't have any trouble, but it's a little different than the SSRIs.
