I'm not due for my post-partum check up until the end of the month. I know that I'm not 'normal' in this regard but I just couldn't wait to . I held out a week after giving birth. I know that it didn't hurt bad and we didn't use lube. I've been going back over the posts of the past and I can't find this answer anywhere: When is it safe to have anal sex with an episiotomy? I really know I should ask the doctor but I really never want to see that man again-especially not asking him about that! Any ideas?

How bad was the episiotomy? When you go in for your check ask them if it's completely healed. If so, you should be good to go, just take it slow.

If you feel OK - just take it slow and you should be fine. If the cut went into your anus then I would give it more time.

There! That pretty much describes my feelings about the doctor who almost didn't make it to my baby's delivery b/c he was taking a crap! He walked in after I was already tearing and then cut my from back to front when I had told him OVER AND OVER that I wanted a NATURAL childbirth. How is that for awesome?

Anyway..... I guess that anwsers how bad the episiotomy was. I go for a 5 week check-up on Dec 28 so I may just have to ask him. Although I doubt he even knows. He'll prolly just say "what? O sure whatever you want".....

I would be ticked too. Most of the time natural tearing heals better than the cut and usually is less damage than an episiotomy. Though I ended up with a 3rd degree tear, and that wasn't much fun to recover from. Who knows, when you ask him he may be horrified you even brought up the topic.
