“Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven.”
|
Okay so i am turning the big 30 tomorrow and i was totally fine with that until my DD called me old. I apparently have been outed from the cool mom club. Its heartbreaking. I didnt feel old until i started looking through baby pictures and could not think of anything i have accomplished in my life other than my family which is enough for me. However where has the past 12 years gone.
DD is 12 and DS is almost 1yr...other than creat a great family what have i accomplished in life. Is this normal, should i feel so down about growing a year older. I change my mind, i dont wanna be 30 i wanna be 20-10. ![]() |

My uterus is screaming at me to MAKE MORE BABIES!!

It's normal to get comtemplative around the bigger birthdays for yourself and your children. For me, 30 was no big deal. I just turned 33 and that was a bigger deal for me. My birthday was back on the day it was when I was born (I was my dad's first Father's Day gift), and I looked back on these years.
I think the key isn't to look at what you have or have not accomplished, but to think of all of the amazing things you have done. Even the smallest things can be amazing. You had your daughter when you were young and she is a beautiful girl who is smart and is calling you old. She may be calling you old because a couple of the boys she knows think you are pretty, have you thought about that? My cousin started doing that to his mom and she found out his friends had crushes on her! You have a lovely little boy who is doing all sorts of neat things because of you. Without his parents, he wouldn't be here! You were so caring and helpful to your extended family of late. I'd bet you are a pretty good friend IRL too. Look at all of the relationships you have. Besides, 30 is still pretty young these days! My husbands grandma is 90 1/2, her neighbor Ted is 88, her friends all up and down her block are 80-92, people are living longer and better, 30 is the new 20! |

If Ty says it's big, then trust him - it's BIG!

I hit 30 last year and it sucked. Chloe tells people that I am 29 for the 3rd time because she dont want me to be "old" what your feeling is normal.. At least it was for me. |

Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??

Totally normal to feel that way. Each year that passes I think of all the opportunities I've let pass me by. Be proud of your family accomplishments. It is an awesome thing!
