Dh and I purchased new bedroom furniture this evening!!!! The bed we have is the one I purchased some 18 years ago when I moved out on my own. (though, the mattresses are new) And, our dressers were dh's when he was in college. His mother painted them for us when we were first married. Our room, this past 10 years, has been like a sad college dorm room.

This is what we purchased, it's an Ashley set.... and I can't WAIT to get it delivered next week!

I know what you mean by sad furniture. I tried to upgrade my bedroom before Liriel was born, but the bed frame didn't fit up the stairs. So I had to send it back.
