yes, you helped a ton! I'm doing it little by little. I just can't seem to get out of sickness, or work. It's a bad cycle! My pantry, freezer, and fridge are better, but everything else is up for discussion
I tend to do my organizing on the weekends in the early AM before the kids get up or at night when they get into bed.
I do one little section at a time. If you try to organize the complete kitchen in one hour, you're only going to frustrate yourself. Try emptying one drawer at a time. Put things in clear containers if you have to until you can move things around. Figure out how many little bins you need to store your stuff (like in my drawers, I bought the small 5" by 4" square bins for 2 or 3 for a dollar at the $1 store). The longer 12" by 4-5" white wire coated bins can be used for your cooking utensils and keeping those organized.
The main thing to remember about becoming organized is that it won't help at all unless you take the extra moment to put things back where the go every time, otherwise, you're stuck in the same rut again. I'm trying to teach the kids this too. Hence the clear bins in the play room and having everything have a "home".
Let me know if we need to do updated pics and I can give you more ideas. That's for anyone who needs the help. I'm not saying I'm perfect, but, if I can make your life a little more 'sane', I don't mind offering some suggestions on cheap ways to become more organized and less frazzeled!

I had the toys mostly set and then she got more toys. Must rotate more. And must teach DD to put her own toys away. Would be WAY to much to expect the big baby to put his away.
But what I need to do is get out of my habit of stacking junk in piles here and there. The majority of the junk being mail. Bills always go to one specific spot, it's all the rest that gets piled up. DB does the same thing.

OMG! I have the SAME problem! I cannot figure out a good solution. We use the itty bitty 1 foot section of the counter that is connected to the fridge for all our bills/mail and it's frustrating because it always gets piled up. DH forgets to go through it and before I know it, I have a pile of mail shoved in the upper cabinet (where I keep my phone book and meds). DH ends up throwing them in a letter sized bank box and they never get organized. I could kill the man.
That's the only thing I REFUSE to do. Especially considering HE is the one who makes it soooo frustrating. I have to come up with a better solution. I'm thinking of using colorful mazagine holders for immediate things. Have three of them, all three of them different colors - one for magazines that come in the mail that I need to read, one for mail that needs to be gone through/paid and another for stuff that needs to be filed. That way it can be filed and put away before it gets too out of control.
Something like this maybe: Staples.comŽ. that was easyŽ.
If they don't have different colored one's maybe I could get the kids to color it or maybe glue some construction paper on it so that we can tell the difference between what is important and what is not.
