I used oven cleaner because I don't have a self cleaning oven... I wiped it down three times with water (like the directions said) and STILL whenever I turn the oven on, it fills the house with this AWFUL chemical smell... I'm afraid to cook in it.. but I need my oven... do you think it's okay?

I've had that happen in the past. I just let the oven run for a while at 350-400 until it burned it off and then put the food in. I wouldn't put food in it if it's still smoking or giving off a strong smell.
