Default Soaking laundry

My washer dosen't have a soaking option, so i have a dishpan I soak the clothes in. I found the Tide sink packs, and they work great in the pan. I put Mike's poopy undies in it last night to soak, and Deans onsie that has diareaha all over it. I would normally let them soak until i was ready to wash them, but Dh said that it will bleach the color out. Who's right? There's no bleach in the Tide.

if there's no bleach in the Tide I don't see why it would bleach the color out.

with poopy clothes I always laid mine out in the sun before washing (and after rinsing off any "excess") that way I didn't have to worry about checking them before putting them in the dryer

it works wonders for poop stains (even set in ones)

Sun also does wonders on tomoto based stains...!!

If there is no bleach in it, your probably OK for color. But leaving things soak for an extended period can cause the fabric to start to break down. So I wouldn't recommend it for days on end.

Yep - sun can do wonders for some stains.

I had no idea about the sun.. Interesting.
Jess, You can also let your washer fill up and stop the cycle half way through the wash and let clothes soak that way.. I do this with my towels and some of the kids stuff.

I also stop the cycle before it starts to drain and let it sit if needed. I had a dark blue shirt fade when I got a little over zealous with laundry soap. I can't remember what I used, but it didn't have bleach in it. I use oxy clean, borax, super washing powder, and zout on stains. I hang everything out to dry so the sun usually takes care of anything that the soaps didn't.
