Default vaccuums

I desperately need a new vaccuum cleaner, mine is constantly getting clogged and just doesn't pick up well.

so...

I am getting myself one for my birthday and I REALLY want a Dyson, but the bissell "healthy home" seems like would be good too (and cheaper, but not by much)

so do any of you ladies have either one? do like them? Is the Dyson REALLY worth it?

TIA !

I have a Bissel - but after using it to suck up ash from my pellet stove, it doesn't work so well anymore. LOL Worked great at first though. Now the motor that pulls/pushes it seems to be mostly dead, so it's difficult to push around.

I don't have one but my best friend just got a $540 Dyson for Christmas and she swears by it but part of me thinks she is also just trying to make herself feel better about spending so much money on a vacuum I have a dirt devil bagless that I love but those bissells do sound nice Do any of them come with warrantys? That might be the best choice if they do

I have a Dyson and love it. It really sucks up the dirt. The day we got it I vacuumed the living room that afternoon with my old one. In the evening we bought the Dyson and I wanted to try it out right away. The room I just swept a few hours before the Dyson picked up 1 cup of dirt my other had missed. I was shocked and poured it out to measure it. It grossed me out that my other sweeper had missed so much and I thought the carpet was clean. I've had my Dyson almost two years and it's going great.

I suggest you look at the cost of consumables for the different brands. I have a filter on my vacuum that has to be replaced occasionally - especially after sucking up ash - and that runs about $10 for one!!!

I have a pink Dyson and love it! My suggestion is to get your hands on one of those 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond or Linens n Things coupons and use it to buy a Dyson there...cheaper and a great vacuum!

As a side note, Adam loves my pink Dyson so much that he had to get a toy pink vacuum for Christmas too...he follows me with his when I'm vacuuming

For what it is worth, I went through this same thing a few months ago and consumer reports do not rate Dysons very high. Bissell is rated higher and is cheaper I have 2 bissells, both bagless. I got the healthy
