So I thought that we fixed my camera. I was taken pics at work but they were all outside, and were turning out beautiful! Then I brought it to my FIL's house and was taken some off his deck. They still looked great! Then I went to take some inside and they are all blurry still

Which kind of camera do you have again? I can't remember if you're a Rebel groupie too or not
I don't really have a clue what I'm doing yet, I just ordered my XTi and 2 good lenses besides the kit, but I did get an instructional DVD which I've started sleeping through..er... I mean watching The only things that come to mind after watching that DVD are - your ISO isn't set high enough (maybe try 400 or 800?), your shutter speed isn't fast enough, or you're not using a good enough lens with a wide enough aperature? Wow, I have no idea what I just said I'm sure Suzanne will come along and save the day Those outdoor shots are AMAZING!!!!!! ![]() |

Picture perfect everytime

That is an incredible view Amanda! I am so jealous...I'm going to post a picture of my view from work...oh wait, we have NO windows in our department!!!
What mode are you shooting in inside? Do you know how to look up your EXIF data when you pull up your pictures in PS or PSP? You can also find it in your menu on your camera...do you have a D40 or XTi? On the XTi you should be able to put the card back in your camera, go through you pictures with the arrow keys (or the jump key) until you get to the picture you want to look at. With that picture on your LCD push the INFO button. You can push it up to three times and one of those times some information telling you what your aperature, shutter speed and ISO is will pop up. Can you tell me what those settings were and what mode you were shooting in? It looks like motion blur to me, probably a shutterspeed that is too slow. When you are shooting indoors without a flash (it doesn't look like the flash popped on these) the camera will try to make up for the lack of light. Unless you are shooting in manual, or AV priority (where you control the aperature) or TV priority (where you control the shutterspeed) the camera will automatically open up your aperature to allow more light in and slow your shutterspeed down to keep the shutter open longer to gather more light as the image is exposed. The downside of that is that the longer your shutter stays open the harder it is to prevent motion blur. Any slight movement of camera or of the person having their picture taken will cause blurriness. The only way to avoid it is to get in better light or use your flash. If I am trying to take pictures of Caleb I get motion blur with any shutterspeed slower than 1/125th of a second. He just wiggles too much. Now if I use my flash no problem, without a flash...forget it! Hope that helps! If you look at your settings and they look good and you are still getting blurry pictures you may want to get your camera checked out. It's hard to tell for sure without knowing what your settings were. :) Suzanne |

Well we just figured out that my flash isn't poping. I have it on auto setting in these pics. So I guess my camera is broken |

Amanda,
I have a Nikon D50 and I had focusing problems similiar to yours. I contacted Nikon and they fixed the whole thing at no charge since it was still under warrenty. It was something to do with the lens. I haven't had any problems since then though. |

Yup, at least he was trying at the time. Whenever I sit he climbs up and gets in to the position Thanks Christine. I have emailed Nikon and they asked for some sample pics. Hopefully they will have some suggestions. Mine is still under warrenty too so I better get it fixed or I want a new one! |
