photos. Dh finally got the scanner hooked up I scanned a few photos, but they saved as .tif files and not .gif How can I post them like that? Do I need to rescan and try saving them a different way?

I wish I knew.

I go into my contol panel and scanner directly from there instead of on the actually scanner. I am not sure if that will help.

You should be able to upload a .tif to photobucket like you can a .JPEG or GIF

For whatever reason Photobucket won't let you upload .tif files.
Do you have Photoshop or another program that you can open them up in and re-save as a .jpg?

I have paint shop pro. We just got it last week. I am so clueless on how to work theis stuff. I just rescanned directly into that and it saved it as a paintshop file. Grrrrr. I'll keep trying. I can't even get it to e-mail the pic out!

Tif files are HUGE and need compression. You "should" have options on what format to save the files as. Read your manual! =)

When I scan, it says "save as" and I just change the name of the file to whatever... like mine try to save as .psd - but I change it to .jpg or .gif - and have never had any issues. Course, it'll depend on your scanner, and your computer.
