I am trying to back up my computer onto a CD-RW to make sure that what I do have doesn't diappear and I am getting this for an error.

"The backup utility can not connect to the removeable storage unit. This service is required for use of a tape drives and and other back up devices.

Please exit and start the Removeable storage service using they System services function of the Management console"

So I go to Computer Management and go to Removeable storage and I get this error:

This service can not be started because it is either diabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

this snapins' display may be inconsistent with the removeable storage service. if the problem persistest please restart the snapin.
What in the world does that mean???

It means that you do not have a tape drive to backup your pc...you cant backup your whole pc to a cd....it would take 100's of them. It is basically asking for some type of backup drive to use.

Yourobably - if you have a PC - only have to back up "My Documents" and then any other places fies/photos may be stored.
