I love my boys!!
|
The boys are on Augmentin....that stuff is NASTY!! Dean has THE WORST diareaha, and bleeding rash. The ped told me to try the foot fungus stuff on his little nuts, and they are just so red and bloody. They both are getting Florastor, but it's not really helping Dean, and it's making Mike constipated(diareaha without it :hairpull:) Any sugestions?
Anything I need to look out for with Xopenex, and Pulmicort? Both boys are on Xopenex, .83mg, (Dean gets 1/2 vial) 2-3 times a day, and Pumlicort BID. Dean is just sooo miserable. He had his breathing treatment, his augmentin, his Florastor, and then tylenol. Then his belly was cramping, and he was just SCREAMING, and he's un able to breath out of his nose. He wants his binkey, and i give it to him, but he has to spit it out to breath. I'm doing the humidifier, he's sleeping on an incline, he's getting saline drops, and the bulb syringe. Is there ANYTHING else I can do for him? He's all of a sudden running about 100, and the drooling has increased. Any advice you can give would be a HUGE help! TIA! ![]() |

Jess the worlds best rash cream for diaper issues is triple paste....it is great...if he has yeast issues try Boudreaux’s Butt Paste..that has something in it to help with yeast. I use on kate Palmers butt butter all the time when she goes to bed to help keep her butt dry during the night it is not a rash creme but a skin protectant...or try aquaphor or just plain old vaseline to help put a barrier on the skin to protect it.

Ugh, I hate Augmentin. I gave it to Josh for 2 days and he had the most explosive watery diarrhea so I stopped it and he got better on his own.
I second the Triple Paste recommendation. It's kind of expensive (we paid $10 for a small tube) but it worked really well. |

Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??

Sounds like he has a yeast infection, so you can use the lotrimin and then aquaphor or vaseline. Augmentin is nasty and needs to be flavored. I've always been told that a bit of chocolate with each dose does wonders to help with the diarrhea, but obviously you can't do that with Dean. Give it to him with food/BM. That helps a lot. Keep him on the probiotics. I would cut Mike's dose on the probiotics and see if that balances things out? It probably won't make a difference, but you can give him some juice to counter that if it doesn't.
for his nose, you may need to try the Little Noses Decongestant drops. It's 0.125% concentration, the lowest you can get as far as I know. It's not recomended for kids under 2, but the dosing info I have is to use 1 drop every 4 hours, but not for more than 3 days(same for adults). Because of all his other issues, you may want to double check with the pedi before using them. Either way, keep up with the saline drops. You can use them as often as needed because they don't have any drug in them. With the pulmicort, be sure to rinse his mouth and wash his face where it comes into contact with the med. It can cause yeast/thrush. I hope they feel better fast. ![]() |
