Because I said so, that's why!

DB FINALLY went in to have his leg looked at. Along with his blood pressure evaluated and his belly button hernia looked at and they stopped him there and said lets take care of these before we deal with the other stuff (back, elbow, knees).
The old man is just falling apart. His leg is a completely severed Achelies tendon. Not the torn calf muscle he was hoping for. Will need surgery if it's to ever be usable again. If he qualifies for it he will hopefully get a MRI tomorrow and then surgery will be scheduled. The doc only wants to do that to help justify the surgery, not that he thinks it's necessary to confirm the diagnoses. Hernia will need surgery - they were going to schedule that as well. The basketball games may have killed his leg, but they dropped is blood pressure from 177/110 to 155/100. So they gave him some MUCH needed blood pressure meds for that. The sad thing is - he is probably better off not having health insurance right now than if he did have some. Because he would not qualify for this program if he had ANY health insurance. And he couldn't afford the deductible and co-pay if he had health insurance. So now I need to do some research on the 2 surgerys he is likely to have in the near future. He is understandably a bit nervous about the prospect of going under. wow! So he can't even lift his foot huh? That must be so painful! I am glad he finally went, and that is had the other issues looked at. Certainly sounds like he is falling apart! Hopefully he qualifies for the surgery

Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??

Thank goodness he finally went in. I totally hear what you're saying about being better off with no insurance. The deductibles and co-insurance is ridiculous! Lauryn's surgery cost me $900+ and I had already met the deductible!
