Painting OK?
Is it OK to paint? My husband says I'm OK, but I can't help but worry. I'm 10 weeks - I've been wearing a mask and keeping the area ventilated. The paint is latex (not lead based) but I still wonder. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I know, you're looking for OTHER peoples opinions, but you know I have to say something
- I think you're fine as long as you've got good ventalation.
I can't wait to see how everything looks once the kitchen & floors are all done.
Since Kia hasn't shared with you all - her & her hubby Adam are remodeling their kitchen, paniting everywhere (except bedrooms), and getting all new BEAUTIFUL floors - wood & carpet. I'll have to help her post some before & after pics. It's gonna look fabulous.

As long as it's water based and the area is ventilated your good to go. I painted during both pgs. I've even seen women on HGTV painting while pg.

I painted while PG, just made sure to wear a mask and keep the area well ventilated, just like you said you have been doing

Though I would still recommend limiting it as much as possible. I probably couldn't have done that at that stage of my pregnancy because the fumes would have made me sick. LOL

I agree with everyone, you should be fine. I didn't paint the kids' room when I was pregnant, but that was because it was such a small space and DH was willing. Plus, I was able to milk it.
I did paint the church nursery though, it was a much larger room, and one whole wall was windows that I opened.

That is what my doctor told me...however, DH would not let me in the room!

I think it depends on how much you can take. My dr. said 30 min in a well ventilated area was fine. I couldn't stand the smell, it made me want to puke, so when we just painted our house, I avoided it at all costs (besides the fact it was 10-20 outside and we couldn't keep it well ventilated.
