I had 30 good years of having near-perfect, extreemly healthy teeth ~ no cavities, crowns... yada, yada, yada...

Last year I got my first teeny, tiny cavity - it was so small that they didn't even use novicaine.

Today I go to the dentist because for over a year I haven't been able to chew food on the left side of my mouth because my lower back tooth was sensitive, but only when chewing so I wanted to have it checked out. Well come to find out I have a cracked tooth! My dentist was very surprised at the where-abouts of the crack, saying it's nearly impossible to crack a tooth in that way, especially coming from someone with such great teeth. So now I have to go back in 3 weeks to have a crown put in and if I continue to have pain they may need to do a root canal!

There goes my good teeth record.

That does suck! Has your dentist said what might be causing you to have problems now?
I hope the crown works. I've never had a root canal, but I don't think they are much fun.

Ugh that sucks. You are lucky though. I have horrible teeth..no matter what I do I get cavities. It is embarassing. I can't afford all the work I need to have done, so I do baby steps. I hate going to the dentist.
