We have been using Dr. Browns 4 oz and I think its time to switch to a 8 oz bottle.I think they really aren't doing that much more for his spiting -up and I hate to go and buy more Dr. Browns for just 6 more months.(they aren't cheap). I have been thinking of the evenflo's that are angled. And I think we are ready for the size 3 nipples.
What does your baby take?
We use the big Avent bottles with a #2 nipple. Ian does really well with them. Once in a while, if he's having a particularly bad "spit day" we'll use Dr. Browns...with a #1.
Giving away FREE crotch extenders -- do I have any takers??
Re: What bottle & nipple are you using?
We use the Avent small bottles with the stage 2 nips. Tried stage 3, what a mess! With Thomas we tried the Dr. Browns, I hated them. They made a huge mess. Especially when using the car bottle warmer. I had milk dripped all over the console of my car forever, YUK!
I use the 8 oz Br Browns with a stage 1 nip. When we put cereal in it in the morning we have a few that we put a tiny slit in. He dose fine with that! If anyone has any Dr. Brown's that they aren't useing, and would like to get rid of, let me know how many and what you want for them. I got a set of 10 off ebay for like 40.00, which i thought it was a good deal, but they are worn, and DH has let milk go bad in a few of them and I have had to throw a lot of them away from the nasty smell.
I have the playtex with the stage one nipples....we have tried the stage one in the orthodontic, naturallatch and the older style flat ones....the only ones she will use are the older style....luckily i found a bunch of 2 packs at big lots for $.99 because the others she hated, she wouldnt drink anything at all at daycare during the day and would want to nurse all night long because she was only eating some cereal and fruit during the day.
If anyone is using the Avent ones I have about 8-9 of the 9 ounce ones and also the disposable via ones that are brand new never used with stage 2 nipples and a few stage 1's that I would get rid of pretty cheap, all they are doing is taking up space. Just let me know.
