It isn't a recall yet so I am sticking this thread under the bottle feeding forum even though I know BF moms use them too. I was watching on CNN today that some bottles have a chemical called BisPhenol A (BPA) that has been linked to all kinds of horrible things in animals. (There hasn't been any human research done.) I am trying to figure out if the Nuk bottles that we use for Jerseys EBM feedings when I'm away or asleep have it.
The MAJOR source of it though is actually in formula can linings. The metal cans that are liike Ensure drinks or whatever. They said that by switching to powdered or non-canned varieties you wliminate the problem. Thought I would give ya'll a heads-up!
I will put the link in the bottom of this post. The FDA is basically saying that there is no harm done but I'm one of those alarmists who think if there is no human research done and it causes neural and cancer problems in rats, what is it doing to my 2 week old, ya know?
